DiPaolo's is an honored name in Oxford with a history that dates back generations. Formerly located on Beech Street, DiPaolo's moved into The Elms hotel building in 2003. The restaurant is currently operated by Rakan Steiwi who has over 35 years in the restaurant industry. DiPaolo's and Three Trees are situated side-by-side in The Elms hotel. While they share the same kitchen, their atmospheres are very different. At DiPaolo's, the elegant dining room has large windows that overlook uptown Oxford. The decor uses beige, burgundy, and other earth tones to create a warm setting. Dress at DiPaolo's is casual to dressy casual. Three Trees Irish Pub is cozy and relaxed and dress is casual. As the name implies, the pub actually has three trees running through it. DiPaolo's serves sophisticated Italian cuisine with a focus on pasta and chops. Among the restaurant's signature entrees are the broiled scampi, cedar salmon, and veal chop. The scampi contains four huge broiled shrimp that have been brushed with oregano butter and served with pasta Carbonara and caramelized onion. Three Trees offers gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees at very reasonable prices. The sandwich board features Irish classics alongside other creative offerings (Herbed Chicken and Swiss Panini). Entrees, such as the Scotch Whiskey Glazed Salmon, are available after 5 p.m. Sandwiches range in price from $6.50 to $7.95 and entrees range from $8.95 to $12.95.
